The juxtaposition of sculpture and print is important in “Bridgewalkers” conceptual program.
By presenting the finished object with a print of the original design, Entwistle is able to evoke allusions to
the world of engineering and construction through both the medium of the print (blueprint) and the concept of
‘reverse engineering’ whereby engineers return to the original design after the final structure is complete.
Entwistle not only presents this in his exhibition, but he also uses this technique in his own artistic process
further tying his art to construction practices.
Through the combination of materials, process and concept, Entwistle is able to successfully bridge the crossroads
of fine art and engineering construction. He does so by staying true to the materials, and creating a visual
interplay between the human form and the edifices that compose our daily environment making “Bridgewalkers” a
visually stimulating and intellectual presentation of interpreted utility.
