I have taken a position as a high-end metal fabricator and installer at M. Cohen and Sons outside of Philadelphia, PA. I am working on custom sculpture, residential and commercial metalwork, including bronze, aluminum, stainless steel and wrought iron.
My work was shown in a regional show on metal work in Berkeley Springs WV. I exhibited with about 20 other sculptors, including my former advisor at WVU, Alison Helm
The date has been set for my Thesis Exhibition this coming spring, and I will be having an opening reception along with friend and fellow MFA candidate Sean Blair. The show will start at 7pm that Friday evening at the Mesaros Galleries at the Creative Arts Center at West Virginia University. The event will be catered by The Boston Beanery and Qdoba. The after-party will be held at Crosley's Banquet Center, located next to Mario's Fishbowl at 619 Richwood Avenue Morgantown.
The 2006 Birke Symposium at Marshall University will showcase work from regional artists, including my newest bridgewalker piece in their outdoor sculpture tour. The theme for the 2006-07 Birke Fine Arts Symposium is Art(s) for All. The symposium will focus on those aspects of the arts that often address issues having great public consequence and interest as well as entertainment value. Events are being planned that will direct attention to art that deals with society’s illnesses, the environmental landscape, public service and artistic messages.
Crossroads Cincinnati 2006 will gather an international roster of artists, art professionals, and art lovers in the culturally rich city of Cincinnati for four days of dialogue, networking and opportunities. Crossroads Cincinnati 2006 sets our focus on contemporary issues in sculpture on the heels of Sculpture magazine's 25th Anniversary and the International Sculpture Center's 45th Anniversary. I will be attending the conference with Professor Alison Helm.
National Juried Show, Target Gallery at the Torpedo Factory Art Center, Alexandria, VA. I was selected to show my piece "citizen 1" at an exhibition investigating scale and perceptions of size. Juried by David C. Levy, former director of the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and the Parsons School of Design in New York City. Reception: Sunday, April 23, 3-6pm. The show turned out great, I had alot of interest in my piece... hopefully it will sell!
